Recently, the Department of Transportation of Sichuan Province held a provincial conference on transportation work. The reporter learned from the meeting that in 2015, Sichuan Province will accelerate the construction of 19 under construction expressway projects such as Yakang and Wenma, and ensure the completion and opening of 10 projects such as Cheng'anyu and Chengdu Second Ring Road East section.
The total length of highways in the province has reached 5510 kilometers
In 2014, the construction of highways in Sichuan Province continued to advance, with the completion and opening of six new projects including Lipan, Bashan Bazhong to Nanjiang, Chengzi Luzhou, Suizi Meishan, Mianyang Ring Road, and Chengdu Second Ring Road West. Currently, the total length of highways in the province has reached 5510 kilometers. Six new projects, including Yakang and Wenma, with a total length of 644 kilometers, have commenced construction. Seven projects, including Mianyang to Xichong, Bazhong to Wanyuan, Neijiang Ring Road, and Panzhihua to Dali, totaling 584 kilometers, have completed preliminary work. The total length of highways built and under construction in the province exceeds 7200 kilometers, and all 21 cities and prefectures in the province have highways built or under construction.

In terms of the operation of the Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system on highways, the number of ETC dedicated lanes has reached 504, covering 60% of toll stations in the province. There are 393 customer service outlets, covering all cities at or above the county level that have access to highways, with nearly 200000 users.
Ten high-speed projects have been completed and opened to traffic throughout the province
In 2015, Sichuan Province will accelerate the construction of the three-dimensional comprehensive transportation corridor of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and promote the early commencement of the "Three to Two" project in the Yangtze River section. At the same time, ensure that 500 kilometers will be opened, 300 kilometers will be started, and 500 kilometers will be reserved by 2015.
In 2015, Sichuan will ensure the completion and opening of 10 projects, including Cheng'anyu and the eastern section of Chengdu Second Ring Road. By the end of the year, it is expected that the total length of highways in the province will exceed 6000 kilometers, and the total length of completed and under construction will exceed 8000 kilometers.
As the mileage of highways continues to climb, smart transportation construction will also keep up. In 2015, Sichuan Province will complete the construction of ETC lanes (Phase III) on highways, achieving provincial coverage of electronic non-stop toll collection systems, and achieving nationwide networking on schedule. Within the year, seven projects will be completed, including the national unified highway dedicated communication network system and the provincial road passenger transportation network ticketing system.
