The reporter learned from the 2015 Provincial Transportation Work Conference held on January 17 that starting from this year, Gansu will complete an investment of 500 billion yuan within 6 years, build 60000 kilometers of highways, and achieve the "three connections" of internal and external highways, air routes, and postal routes in the province by 2020.

The meeting reported that by the end of 2014, the total highway mileage of the province had reached 138000 kilometers, including 3300 kilometers of expressways, 7492 kilometers of second-class highway, 120700 kilometers of rural roads, and 32.43 kilometers/100 square kilometers of highway network density. 70% of the established villages in the province have asphalt (cement) roads, 1222 township bus stations, and 13164 established village bus stops, covering 96.8% of townships and 78.1% of established villages in the province. The number of operational vehicles in the province reached 355800, and the total turnover of road transportation for the year was 101.55 billion ton kilometers, a year-on-year increase of 22%. The total length of navigable waterways in the province has reached 913.77 kilometers, with 27 operating routes and 442 operating ships. There are 8 civil airports in the province, operating over 80 flight routes and serving more than 70 cities. 24 first level bus stations and 19 second level bus stations in the province have achieved online ticket sales, covering 14 central urban areas and 17 counties in the province. There are 1466 post offices, 33 express delivery companies (brands), 782 express delivery outlets, and 267 township non-public express delivery outlets in the province. Completed a fixed asset investment of 60.4 billion yuan in transportation for the whole year, a year-on-year increase of 30%. Three 300 kilometers of highways have been built from Chengxian to Wudu, Guazhou to Dunhuang, and Linxia to Hezuo, ending the history of no highways in Gannan Tibetan area. All cities, prefectures, and 48 counties in the province have access to highways.

In terms of the construction of the comprehensive transportation system, two international routes from Lanzhou to Dubai and Tbilisi have been opened, with 23 new routes and 20 additional routes added, achieving a passenger throughput of 7.5572 million; The cargo and mail throughput is 48700 tons. The expansion of the terminal area of Zhongchuan Airport Phase II has been basically completed, and the main construction of Qingyang Airport Terminal, the control engineering test section of Longnan Chengzhou Airport, and the preliminary work of Dunhuang Airport expansion have been carried out in an orderly manner; Construction of 14 transportation hub projects, including Pingliang Rapid Transit Center, has commenced; The navigation projects in the Yellow River Daxia and Wujinxia reservoir areas have been completed, and the first phase of the Longwan to Nanchangtan navigation project has been completed.

The meeting proposed that in 2015, Gansu's transportation development should complete 78 billion yuan of transportation fixed assets investment, an increase of 30%; The total turnover of road transportation and the passenger throughput of civil aviation both increased by 20%; The total volume of postal services has increased by over 18%, while the volume of express delivery services has increased by over 30%; Vehicle toll revenue reached 8.35 billion yuan, an increase of 14%. In the whole year, 700 kilometers of expressways, 310 kilometers of first-class highway, and 1130 kilometers of second-class highway were newly constructed, ensuring the completion of 300 kilometers of expressways, 170 kilometers of first-class highway, 906 kilometers of second-class highway, 10000 kilometers of open access projects for villages with established systems, and 1500 bus stops for villages with established systems.
